Newsletter for 2/22/07- The Variables of Healing- Part 5
|
Good Morning,
Thank you for allowing us to share our thoughts with you each week. This means a great deal to us, because we
know that you have very busy schedules. We hope that the testimonies and teachings are a blessing to you!
Just a couple of reminders, this Saturday, we host our bi-weekly ministry time. This is called ACTS and stands for All
Churches Training Service. The goal of this is to subsidize your spiritual intake. Our goal is NOT to start a church but
to help minister to the existing church. We don't want A church to succeed but to see The Corporate Church
succeed. We pray for the local pastors and their churches that they will all bring in the harvest of their field through
the Holy Spirit falling on each and every congregation.
The aforementioned ministry time is at 6 PM in the Fellowship Hall at Rainier Assembly of God on Saturday, February
24, 2007. We include worship, teaching and a time for prayer for healing. We have seen many people healed,
delivered from addictions, receive prophetic insight and more. If you are able to join us, we would love to fellowship
with you.
Also, if your church has a special ministry time coming up, please email that to us so that we can share it. Now the
conclusion to our five part series on The Five Variables of Healing.
The Five Variables of Healing (Part 5)
Over the last four weeks, I have shared with you the first four variables of healing. (If you have not received these,
please feel free to look at those on our web site archive- www.kingdompowernow.com)
The fifth and last of these variables are Principalities. Principalities are spiritual influences as reflected in the following
scripture.
Ephesians 6:10-13
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of
God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against
spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you
may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
The principalities that we deal with are powerful influences, but are nothing compared to the power of Christ. In fact,
they are nothing compared to the power of Christ in us. These are nothing that we should fear or be intimidated by.
The scripture above states that we are able to withstand (vs. 13) and not only should we just get by, but we should be
strong in the Lord and in the power of His might! (vs. 10)
Jesus died on the Cross that we would be able to have the power and authority to rule and reign over all of these
influences. Since they are just influences, they don't really have any power to do anything on their own but can only
influence people to do things. This is why Paul states that it is not the flesh and blood that we need to deal with but
those influences that are behind the flesh and blood. Notice, Paul uses the words "wiles of the Devil." Webster
defines wiles in the following forms-
1. a trick, artifice, or stratagem meant to fool, trap, or entice; device.
2. wiles, artful or beguiling behavior.
3. deceitful cunning; trickery. –verb (used with object)
4. to beguile, entice, or lure (usually fol. by away, from, into, etc.): The music wiled him from his study.
Basically, this is just trickery. This is why scripture refers to Satan as a roaring lion and not a devouring lion. He only
has power where we agree with him to allow him power. A great example of this is, one of our team members had
been having bad dreams for a period of time. He finally decided to wear earplugs. When he began wearing earplugs,
he no longer had bad dreams because the enemy had no way to communicate to him. The enemy had been "roaring"
thoughts into his mind, but then had no access. The enemy could only speak things to him, but when that avenue
was cut off, there was no more influence. The enemy's influence is limited to what we allow.
We can not allow the enemy to run rough shod over us, pushing thoughts into our minds. Am I saying that we should
walk around constantly wearing earmuffs and/or earplugs? Of course not. But we should "keep every thought
captive." We should not allow the enemy to be in control in our lives but instead Jesus should be ruling and reigning
within us!
So what does this have to do with healing and how can it manifest an obstacle to us? Thank you for asking, lets look
at another scripture.
Daniel 10:10-14
10 A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. 11 He said, "Daniel, you who are highly
esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to
you." And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling. 12 Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel.
Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your
words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted
me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there
with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future,
for the vision concerns a time yet to come."
In this scripture, a supernatural being, hinders this angel from reaching Daniel with the answer from the Lord. Most
commentaries and expositions on the supernatural realm (see "Angelologie and Demonologie" by Dr. Kohut) refer to
this "prince of the Persian kingdom" to be a demon. A fallen angelic being that is under instruction from Satan to
hinder the Angelic Host in fulfilling their responsibilities. The word "prince" is the root of the word "principality." Notice
that Michael is also referred to as "one of the chief princes." This all makes reference to the supernatural hierarchy
utilized not only by the Kingdom of Heaven but also by the kingdom of the enemy.
Referencing back to Ephesians 6:12, we are battling against "principalities" or the same kind of "princes" of the
enemy that Daniel, himself battled against. The new part of this story is that we have authority over these beings. The
authority was purchased for us on an old rugged cross. Jesus stated "it is finished" while still on the cross. He knew
that He was paying the price for our freedom and liberty. Isaiah delivered prophecy about this.
Isaiah 61:1-3
1 "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the
poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the
prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of
our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of
righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified."
Jesus knew that He was not only providing the power for salvation but also for healing! In fact Jesus even gave
prophecy that we would do the things that He did, but also more!
There is potential spiritual warfare that takes place when we ask the Lord for something. The messengers or angels
may or may not have to battle through enemy territory in order to deliver what the Lord has sent them with. Just as
Daniel was in an area with concentrated realms of spiritual activity, many areas today can also be infested with strong
degrees of spiritual activity, whether it be good or bad.
A specific example of this is the county where our team resides, in Southwest Washington State has the highest level
of methemphatimine use for Washington State. Also, Washington State has the highest level for the nation. Thereby,
per capita we have the highest rate in the nation. This area is obviously a spiritual stronghold for the enemy.
In the early 1900's in Spokane Washington, Revivalist John G. Lake under the direction of the Holy Spirit, started The
Spokane Healing Rooms. Spokane quickly became the healthiest city in the nation. Doctor's offices and hospitals
were shutting down and the President of the United States named the city as "The Healthiest Place to Live, in the
United States." This is a great example of a spiritual stronghold for the Lord.
In conjunction with Variable #4, I believe that there is a pattern here of the spiritual beings gaining cooperation with
the people of an area to manifest one kingdom or the other. As we discussed our neighbors role as a Variable to
Healing, we talked about Bethsaida and how the people of this town would not embrace the ministry of Jesus, even
though many miracles had been done there (Matthew 11:20-24 & Mark 8:22-26) or even in His home town (Mark 6:1-
6), how people refused to accept Him. This is really siding with the enemy.
When we cooperate with fear or doubt, we are taking the amount of faith that scripture says that we have all been
given and partnering it with the enemy. Discernment comes down to "God or not God." Likewise, we can only put our
faith with God or not God. When we begin to embrace those things other than the Lord, we are empowering the
enemy and turning our back on what God wants to do. Scripture says that we can't be the servant to two masters. We
inevitably choose one or the other.
So who do you choose? Will you empower the enemy with doubt over what you haven't seen? Will you side with those
that have created theology to undergird failure in not seeing breakthrough? Or will you press on to the higher
calling? Will you have faith in what the Lord has promised even before you see the fulfillment? Do you trust Him
enough to "risk" looking like a fool and a failure? Will you trust Him enough to step out and pray for those around you
that are needing to see Christ in you? Or will you shrink back into the shadows? If we do not reach out to the hurting
and broken of this world, then who will? He has called us to be the body of Christ, with Him as the head. Will the body
be a good match for the head or will we be sick and emaciated? Will Jesus come back for a bride that is strong and
powerful or one that is still in her nightgown and rollers in her hair, not quite ready yet? Church we must become
ready and step out into the destiny that He has paid for and prepared for us!!! Don't be guilty of taking the power
away from what He did by not using it! Let's become the powerful body of Christ that He has called us to be!!!
