Frustration leads to Revival!
Return to Newsletters
Good Morning,
I would like to share a thought on Revival with you today, but first I would like to remind you of something:  This Friday
--  Nov. 10 -- 6:00p.m. --  @ Northlake Baptist Church in Longview, our team will be doing a Healing Service. Northlake
Baptist Chruch is located at 2614 Ocean Beach Highway in Longview, WA. If you need or would like prayer or if you
know someone else who does, please come and bring them. We plan to pray for everyone that would like it. We are
expecting great things from the Lord and if you can't make it please help us by praying for those that will attend.

REVIVAL!! It is a powerful word that is spoken about regularly and seen rarely. I would like to discuss this a little bit. Is
it God's Will for churches to have Revival? Is it a sovereign work, that we just have to wait for Him to decide to pour it
out?

NO!!! God's Will is always Revival, He is waiting on US!!!!

This leads me to the word "Frustration." Too many of us are content in our Christian Walk and don't even care if
Revival comes or not. In fact, many don't care whether they go to any other level than where they are right now. This
is called "apathetic." The problem with being apathetic is that it is pathetic with an "a" in front of it! God didn't die on
the cross for us to be pathetic, apathetic or to play church. He died so that we could have "life more abundantly!" So
that we wouldn't play church, but BE the church.

If we look back at the Reformers and the Revivalists that were successful in moving the church to a greater level, they
became frustrated before they went anywhere. They became tired of where they were at and became dedicated to
getting deeper in God. They weren't going to just be average Christians, they decided for more, to be above average!

So Jeff, that is a nice sentiment, but what does that look like? Thank you for asking!

It looks like someone so "addicted" to Jesus that they can't get enough of Him and because of this the amount of Him
that they have today, is more than they had yesterday. The amount that they have today, will not be satisfactory
tomorrow! They are digging into the Scriptures. They are praying and listening. They are stepping out in Faith and
taking Risk.

Revival is NOT a whole bunch of people getting saved!! It really isn't! It is those that are already saved getting
"REVIVED." You can't revive something that was never alive in the first place! When Revival comes will a lot of people
get saved? Yes, but that is the "BY-PRODUCT."

The "By-Products" of Revival are numerous. Here is a list of a few things that take place in Revival:  --  Healings  --
Miracles  --  Prophetic Words (Words of Knowledge, Words of Wisdom and Prophecy)  --  People giving their lives to
Christ  --  and many others!!! (This list is not at all comprehensive!!)

In fact, I believe that Revival can lead to Renewal (the Spiritual Renewing of an area or group) and this can lead to
Reformation! I heard someone today, talk about Revival not being that great because they always burn out. The
reason for this is that they don't encourage their children (physical or spiritual) to build their floor on the first
generations ceiling. My dream and goal is that my children don't start where I started but where I leave off!! It's
possible for Revival, Renewal and eventually Reformation to come to your city or your church but it must start with
YOU!!!

I have decided that in my three foot circle I am going to have Revival and allow it to be as contagious as possible! Not
just with people at the church that I attend, not just with the churches that our team ministers in, but with every person
that I come in contact with, whether it is in the market place or where ever!

Now, if you have read this far, then you are responsible for making a decision. What are you going to do in your three
foot circle? Are you going to decide to have Revival and get as close as you can or are you going to be content with
where you are? It's up to you!!
