Newsletter for 9/7/06- The Value of Testimonies
|
Good Morning,
Thank you for the great feedback regarding the recent testimonies of what the Lord has been doing. We really serve
an awesome God!! I know He is much greater than I could have ever imagined. Starting next week, we will be making
available cassette tapes of testimonies from our last healing service, including Brittanie's foot miraculously growing
three sizes while we prayed. There are probably many others that we have not heard about, but will hear this Sunday
in an evening Testimony Service. We will share next week how you can get these tapes.
Testimonies of what God is doing and what He has done, are extremely important. In fact, let me share two
references from scripture.
Rev. 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not
love their lives to the death.
Rev. 19:10b ...Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
These two verses confirm the strength of our testimonies in the lives of others. The ability to win people to Christ
through our testimony is extremely under appreciated. The things that the Lord does in our lives whether it be
salvation, healings, miracles, deliverance or a prophecy should be heralded from the highest hill! The Lord is so
good to us, yet sometimes we keep this under a bushel basket. To some people our testimony will be prophetic
because it will build their faith for what He can do in their lives just as He has in ours. The Lord is no respecter of
persons.
One of the many things that we do at our Healing Services, is share testimonies before we pray for people. This
builds their faith. Many people come into a service thinking, "My need is too great" or "The Lord doesn't care about
me, so He would never heal me." This is why I feel so strongly about the things of the Spirit, because they often times
"prove God." Let me explain that statement.
There have been times in my life where I have gotten off on the wrong foot with someone and by being kind to them, I
have been able to win back the relationship. There are all kinds of people in this world that have "gotten off on the
wrong foot with the Lord" and suddenly when the Lord extends His hand of kindness to them, He wins them over. Its
by His kindness that we come to repentance. How much more kind can the Lord be than to Heal someone or give
them a Prophetic Word that describes the dreams that He has for them. Sometimes just even our giving a cup of cold
water, is enough for the down and out to know that someone cares.
I recently heard an example of someone putting the Lord to the test and the Lord responding prophetically. Bobby
Connors, a prophetic speaker from Texas, shared that while speaking in a church, God gave Him "odd directions."
When he went to the pulpit to preach, the Lord told him to take a lap around the inside of the sanctuary in a jog. As
he did this the Lord spoke to him to grab a specific man's arm and tell him to walk to walk with you. The Lord told
Bobby not to run with this man as he had been doing before reaching him, but to slow to a walking pace and walk with
him but do NOT let him fall. The man was in his early seventies and fragile. Bobby jogged up to him and said "Take a
walk with me." The man got up, took five steps and fell under the power of the Holy Spirit. The man who was an
attorney didn't regularly attend church but had been invited while in town visiting family, told Bobby later, "That during
worship they sang 'He walks with me and He talks with me'." The man had declared to himself that even if God were
real, He would never ask him to walk with the Lord. Then of course, Bobby came along and asked him to walk with
him. He was so overcome by the Lord speaking back to him, regarding a comment made only within his own mind,
that committed his life to the Lord and received the Holy Spirit that night.
This last Tuesday, I received a phone call from one of the members at Rainier Assembly of God, where I serve as the
Associate Pastor. This church member has a family member named David that grew up Mormon but needed prayer
from anyone that could get God on the scene. David was going to Seattle for a surgery to remove a tumor from an
artery between his heart and kidney. He had already had one kidney removed because of cancer several years ago.
His family member that attends RAG had shared some of the testimonies from the recent healing service and the
man became receptive. We took part of the Kingdom Power Now Team and the Senior Pastor from RAG and went to
his house. (Jesus made house calls too!!)
In talking to him, he described himself as an "almost atheist" but acknowledged miracles that had transpired in his life
in the past. We laid hands on him and prayed with him in his dining room and saw a great change in his
countenance. We of course couldn't see what had transpired within him physically or spiritually. However, he has told
the family members that as soon as he is out of the hospital, he will be attending church. Praise the Lord! We pray
that he fulfills this.
My point today is this- We can't underestimate the power of our testimony in someone's life. God has sent us with all
of the tools that we need to accomplish what he has called us to do! What is He calling you to do? Who is He going
to speak to through you? What is the potential for you speaking to them? Could they be healed? Ministered to?
Accept Christ and come into the Kingdom? Taste the Lord and know that He is GOOD!! Let's go get them!!
Working while it is still day,
Jeff McCracken and the Kingdom Power Now Ministry Team
P.S. We will be having our bi-weekly Bible Study in the Fellowship Hall at Rainier Assembly of God at 6 pm on this
Saturday, Sept. 9. Feel free to come, there is child care provided (we do ask that you donate $2 per child to help
defray the cost). God Bless!!!
